Uplinq vs. Wave Advisors
Uplinq vs. Wave Advisors
Both get the bookkeeping off your desk. This page lays out where they differ, dimension by dimension, so you can decide on the ones that matter to your business.
Before the table, the fair version.
The same eight dimensions we hold every comparison to.
Three differences that don't close with a feature release.
Switching costs less than staying mismatched.
Trusted with the books of over 1,000 businesses.
What people ask when comparing.
Wave Advisors' Terms of Service state that, except as provided in a separate agreement, the service does not include preparation or filing of tax forms or remittance of tax payments, and that Wave does not provide tax advice, is not responsible for the review or accuracy of tax filings, and is not delivered by chartered or chartered professional accountants. Wave's separate tax season page describes the service differently, stating that Wave Advisors gives access to bookkeepers, accountants, and tax experts who can help with ongoing bookkeeping, year-end cleanup, or preparing and filing taxes. Because the two pages conflict, buyers should confirm filing scope in writing before purchase.
Yes. Business and personal tax filings are available on every Uplinq plan, and tax strategy packages are available for businesses that want proactive planning. Because the same system holds your books and prepares your filings, year end is a handoff, not a project.
No. Wave's help center states that Wave Advisors' services are only for assistance with features within Wave, and that the advisor delivers the service by adding themselves to the customer's Wave account as an admin collaborator. The bookkeeping subscription includes a Pro Plan without the Receipts feature. There is no published path for the service to operate inside another accounting platform.
Both, deliberately. Uplinq's AI engine categorizes, reconciles, and monitors your transactions continuously. U.S.-based professional accountants review what the system produces and own every judgment call. You get the speed of technology with a real team accountable for the result.
Wave states that its bookkeeping fee is calculated for a calendar month of transactions, depends on business size, and is provided as a customized quote after scheduling a call, with pricing based on transaction volume. Its Terms of Service disclose a first-month fee of $179 USD, or $229 CAD in Canada, when the monthly transaction count cannot be reasonably identified, followed by pricing based on actual volume, and an annual prepay discount limited to pricing tiers 4 and 5. On cancellation, services end at the close of the calendar month in which Wave receives notice, refunds apply only to months where no service was provided and payment was made within 11 months of notice, and the first month's fee is not refundable because introductory setup counts as delivered service.
That's common, and it's a solved problem. Uplinq's Catch Up service rebuilds past months or years of books as part of onboarding, scoped to how far behind you are and the state of your records. You start clean, not from wherever your last provider left off.
No. Uplinq offers month-to-month agreements as well as annual plans, which carry a discount. If you prepay annually and choose not to renew, you simply give notice 30 days before the term ends.
You're not choosing a bookkeeping vendor. You're choosing what your numbers are for.
Feature checklists don't run a business. Clean, current, legible financials do. If that's the outcome you're buying, see what it looks like on your own books.
