Third-party app requests
What to do when Uplinq asks for access to another business app, bank credential, payroll tool, or processor.
Use the request inside Uplinq when we ask for third-party app access or credentials. Do not send passwords, MFA codes, or private login details through a normal comment, email, or text.
Why Uplinq may ask for another app
Your books may depend on data outside your bank feed. Uplinq may need information from tools such as:
- payroll systems;
- merchant processors;
- point-of-sale tools;
- ecommerce platforms;
- loan or financing portals;
- other accounting or operations tools.
The request helps your team get the source data needed to reconcile and finish the books.
Third-party apps vs. credentials
| Request type | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Third-Party Apps | Uplinq needs access or information from another business tool. |
| Credentials | Uplinq created a secure request for login-related information or connection support. |
Use the path shown in Data Hub. If you are not sure what the request is for, ask before sending sensitive information.
What to include if you have a question
If you need help with a request, include:
- the company;
- the app or tool name;
- whether you still use the tool;
- whether you are the person with admin access;
- what part of the request is unclear.
Do not include the password itself in your message.
If the app is no longer used
Tell Uplinq if the app was closed, replaced, or no longer applies. Add the approximate date it stopped being used and whether there are final reports or exports we should review.
If a credential request needs attention
Some requests may move back to a needs-attention state if Uplinq cannot use the information provided or if the connection stops working. That does not mean you did something wrong. It usually means the app needs an updated step, a different admin, or a refreshed connection.
