Notifications

Understand Weekly Update, W-9 Reminder, and Year End Reminder emails, and what may still come from Uplinq.

The short version

Use Settings to manage the notification preferences available in your account. These settings help control routine reminder emails.

They do not replace messages your Uplinq team may need to send about your service, billing, books, or urgent account work.

Where to find notification preferences

In the Uplinq app, open Settings and go to Personal Account. Depending on your account, you may see notification preferences such as:

  • Send Weekly Update Emails;
  • Send W9 Reminder Emails;
  • Send Year End Reminder Emails.

If a preference is available, use the setting shown in your account. Your Uplinq team can confirm which reminders it controls.

What each preference usually means

PreferenceWhat it is for
Send Weekly Update EmailsRoutine account or bookkeeping updates that help you see what needs attention.
Send W9 Reminder EmailsReminders tied to W-9 or payee work, when that applies to your account.
Send Year End Reminder EmailsReminders about year-end work, tax readiness, documents, or related tasks.

These names may change over time as Uplinq improves the app. If your Settings page uses a slightly different label, use the label shown in your account.

Why you may still receive messages

Turning off a preference does not necessarily stop every Uplinq communication. Some messages may still be needed for:

  • billing or payment issues;
  • account access or security;
  • documents Uplinq needs to finish your books;
  • transaction questions or missing source data;
  • service changes or urgent support follow-up;
  • tax or year-end deadlines.

Those messages are about keeping the work moving, not about marketing preferences.

If a notification looks wrong

If you receive a reminder that does not seem right, do not ignore it. Check the related area in the app first:

  • Data Hub for file requests, missing statements, app access, credentials, and connections.
  • Transactions for transaction questions or unclear activity.
  • My Projects for project status, due dates, and tasks.
  • Settings for profile and notification preferences.

If the reminder still looks wrong, contact your Uplinq team and include the notification type, the company, and what looks off. Do not include passwords, full account numbers, or sensitive login details in a normal message.
