Uploading files & using File Requests
How to respond to File Requests and upload documents in the Data Hub.
Uploading files & using File Requests
When your bookkeeper needs a document from you — a statement, a report, an agreement — we'll create a File Request. You'll find your requests in the Data Hub, and you can also reach them from your weekly email and your tasks list.
Clicking the item link in your weekly File Request email takes you straight to the right place — no hunting through the app.
How to upload a file
- Open the requested item from your Data Hub or File Requests.
- Drag and drop your file onto it, or click to add files.
- That's it — we're notified automatically once the file is in.
When a document doesn't apply to you
Sometimes we'll request something your business simply doesn't have — for example, an operating agreement when you're a sole proprietor. Don't just leave it blank.
Instead, leave a short "N/A" comment on the request so we know the document isn't missing — it just doesn't exist for your business. That keeps us from chasing a document you'll never have.
Occasionally the system creates a duplicate request folder for the same item. Either one works — uploading to either is fine. If it's confusing, just tell your bookkeeper and we'll sort it out.
