Common upload problems

What to try when a file will not upload, appears under the wrong place, or is not accepted in Data Hub.

The short version

Most upload problems come from the wrong company, the wrong request, an incomplete file, a browser issue, or a document that needs more context. Try the checks below before sending the file another way.

Check the company and request

If your account has more than one company or entity, confirm you are uploading under the right one.

Then check whether Uplinq created a specific File Request. If there is a request for the document, upload it there instead of uploading it as a general file.

Check the file itself

Before retrying, confirm:

  • the file opens on your device;
  • the upload is the full document, not a screenshot of one page unless Uplinq asked for that;
  • the statement or report covers the period Uplinq requested;
  • the file name is clear enough to recognize later;
  • the document is not locked or encrypted unless Uplinq told you how to provide access securely.

If the file is hard to read, download a fresh copy from the bank, card, payroll tool, processor, lender, or vendor.

Try a desktop browser

Mobile can be useful for quick tasks, but upload-heavy work is usually easier from a desktop or laptop.

If an upload fails:

  1. refresh the page;
  2. try again from a desktop browser;
  3. make sure you are signed in to the correct Uplinq account;
  4. check whether the file is still open or downloading on your device;
  5. try a freshly downloaded copy.

If you uploaded to the wrong place

Do not delete or re-upload repeatedly without context. Add a note or contact your Uplinq team with:

  • the company or entity where you uploaded it;
  • where it should have gone;
  • the file name;
  • the request or period it belongs to.

Ask your Uplinq team to review the context and tell you whether another upload is needed.

What not to do

Do not send login details, MFA codes, full financial details, private tax IDs, or sensitive access details through a normal comment, email, or text.

If Uplinq needs sensitive access information, use the secure request path provided in the app.
